I’ve been hungry much of the day today. My wife made butterscotch oatmeal (recipe here) this morning, which started the day off well. I was glad to find that there was no actual butterscotch involved.
Lunch involved leftover white chicken chili, which was even better the second time around. I have been very fortunate to have married a good cook who feeds our family well. Dinner was a new recipe from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe, Chicken Tortellini Bake. It was pretty good, if a little bland.
I got a some additional motivation this afternoon from my eldest (7), who mentioned that another child at sunday school pointed at me and said “that guy’s fat”. My son looked at me with small tears in his eyes and said that he felt humiliated. What could I say, it’s the truth at the moment… He already knows that I’ve been making some changes to be healthier, so we just talked for a bit about how the two are intertwined.
That conversation weighed on me heavily (no pun intended :) for the remainder of the day. If anything, it’s further steeled my resolved to get in shape.
NordicTrack: 10 minutes
Rowing Machine: 8 minutes 10 seconds. This was a brutal workout
My approach for this next week is to continue making the right small choices that add up to success.
